Seasons

Filed under: Poetry — jacksperkins @ 1:43 am

Winter conceives between September’s thighs
then, desire spent, withdraws and dies.
Spring, young passionate lover
becomes summer’s expectant mother.

Sneak-thief night steals from Autumn’s day
daylight’s contractions underway.
breaking waters pour from pregnant skies
on Autumn’s breast the new-born winter lies.

Light frosts are infant winter’s toy
storms and floods amuse the boy.
The man commands antarctic snows
till Spring time highs replace his lows.
